Day 21 of DrawingAugust

Because I’ve been busy sketching in the digital realm today, too, I’ve decided to post another digital contribution to #DrawingAugust:

Day 20 of #DrawingAugust

Today, I was busy with digital illustrations.

That is why I decided to do a digital drawing for #DrawingAugust, too.

'Bee', digital drawing with Sketchbook Pro

Bee

While I was busy on my Wacom screen,
a bee flew through the window and, obviously wanted to be seen.
So I gave her the attention,
she was very pretty,
did I mention?
And so Bee began to convey to me:
Your dream can be achieved with productivity
Stay focused on your goal
The one that is true to your soul
With love and devotion
You set intention into motion
and your dreams will eventually
become reality.

Day 15 of #DrawingAugust

When I spoiled the first inking of this one, I decided to ink another one (above) and to colour the spoiled one with water colours (below).

Day 14 – sketching exercises

Today, I’ve been training some speed sketching using as little lines as possible.

I’ve been going through a lot of paper and decided to post two of the results. One sketch I  posted on Twitter for #DrawingAugust and the other followed right after that.

In my opinion, one can never exercise enough. Skills and results can only improve.

The intention was to not be too judgmental of what was happening on paper and let myself be guided by the pencil and where ever it took me.

In a spiritual sense, it’s about letting go of control. It’s about not wanting something too hard and just letting ones higher Self – or if you prefer: the heart instead of the head – take the lead.

Only by letting go can we connect with source and expand our consciousness that will keep us on a path where we can live our full potential and be honestly happy and spread the joy and inspire, too.

I have been having images in my head for a series of simple paintings that express emotions, but the images are not yet very clear.

It’s kind of like sketching through the mist, can’t really see where I’m going or what’s coming.

But my curiosity is keeping my en route.

And I am convinced, I will recognise the images, once they become crystallised on paper, to be genuine.

That will be the moment when I’ve let go and given in to my heart – and the heart –  always touches profoundly.

Day 13 of #DrawingAugust

I’ve been nearly all day busy working in Sketchbook Pro, so I decided to do my today’s #DrawingAugust sketch in Sketchbook Pro, as well.

Inspired by today’s unusual windy weather outside, I’ve done a quick sketch of the three children in a wind gust.

Gust of wind, 15 min sketch in Sketchbook Pro using the pencil tool, single layer.

The positive thing about cold and very windy weather outside is that when I keep the windows slightly open the computers and the Wacom Cintiq screen do not heat up as much.

Day 9 of #DrawingAugust

My planetary studies of today inspired me to do a little sketch of the ruling planets for Aquarius:

If I find the time to dig a bit deeper into the planets and their meanings, I might develop an illustrated story or comic from it… or maybe a card deck?

Let’s see how the Aquarius full moon will inspire.

Day 1 to 7 for #Drawing August 2014

I’ve been meaning to announce #DrawingAugust 2014 before it began, but I’ve been very busy with things to do, creative activities, projects, and work so that I neglected my Babybluesnowflake’s Blog for a bit. Shame on me!

But now I’m back and what follows is a 7 day overview of my drawings for #DrawingAugst 2014 so far. Hope you enjoy!

Now, I sure do hope to post my drawing efforts for the month of August on this blog on a daily basis again!

#GrowJune Sketch Collection

#GrowJune inspired me to put together the following sketches for an illustrated children’s book on how to grow a plant.

I will ink and colour them. I might add one or two sequences more.

But all in all this is the how the story goes:

"Look! I've got some seeds!"
“Look! I’ve got some seeds!”
"Let's plant the seeds! Maybe it will grow into a tree!"
“Let’s plant the seeds! Maybe it will grow into a tree!”
"There must be pots we could use in the garden house!"
“There must be pots we could use in the garden house!”
"Let's take one of these pots down there."
“Let’s take one of these pots down there.”
"We'll just put some earth in the pot and bring it back into the house."
“We’ll just put some earth in the pot and bring it back into the house.”
"Have we got everything we need?" "Think so."
“Have we got everything we need?” “Think so.”
"Here's the pot and the earth." "And here are the seeds and the watering pot."
“Here’s the pot and the earth.” “And here are the seeds and the watering pot.”
"Now we push the seeds into the earth."
“Now we push the seeds into the earth.”
"Some water for the seeds."
“Some water for the seeds.”
"On the windowsill it will have enough light to grow."
“On the windowsill it will have enough light to grow.”
"It is said that loving the plant will help with growth."
“It is said that loving the plant will help with growth.”
"Look! A seedling!" "Ah! Let me see!"
“Look! A seedling!” “Ah! Let me see!”
The plant answers to the efforts, love and affection of the girls with growth, beauty and unconditional love.
